Your safety is our absolute highest priority.

In the luxury nail care industry, transparency regarding hygiene is non-negotiable. Operating in New York City requires adhering to strict state guidelines, but at Gilded Ritual, we choose to far exceed those baseline mandates. We employ a rigorous, hospital-grade sterilization protocol for every reusable instrument to ensure a completely sterile, zero-risk environment for our clients and our staff.

Our 7 Step Sterilization Protocol

We treat our facility with the exact precision of a medical clinic. To eliminate cross-contamination and ensure absolute sterility, every tool undergoes a tracked and documented 7-step process before it ever reaches your hands.

Step 1: Pre-Cleaning (Initial Wash)

Immediately after use, tools are quarantined and thoroughly washed with water and a clinical alcohol based solution. This immediate action removes visible debris and drastically reduces surface bacteria before the formal sterilization process begins.

Step 2: Ultrasonic Cleaning (Debris Removal)

Manual scrubbing is insufficient for microscopic safety. Tools are placed into a high-frequency ultrasonic cleaning unit filled with a targeted enzymatic solution. This machine utilizes rapid vibrations to aggressively break down and remove invisible debris, dust, and organic matter from microscopic crevices and hard-to-reach hinges.

Step 3: Disinfection Soak (Barbicide)

Following the ultrasonic bath, tools are fully submerged in an EPA-registered Barbicide solution. The instruments remain submerged for the strictly recommended contact time to effectively disinfect and eliminate bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

Step 4: Purified Rinse

Once the disinfection cycle is complete, the tools are thoroughly rinsed with clean water. This step is critical to remove any residual chemical disinfectant solution that could cause skin irritation.

Step 5: Complete Drying

Moisture is the enemy of sterilization. Each tool is meticulously dried using a lint-free cloth or a dedicated air-drying method. Proper drying is essential, as trapped moisture can harbor bacteria, interfere with the final heat sterilization process, and cause the tools to rust or corrode.

Step 6: Pouch Sealing

Once completely dry, the clean tools are individually sorted and placed into medical sterilization pouches. These pouches are then hermetically sealed to trap out ambient air and maintain absolute sterility after processing.

Step 7: Dry Heat Sterilization (Autoclave)

As the final and most critical step, the sealed pouches are placed in a dry-heat autoclave. The autoclave subjects the tools to extreme, sustained high temperatures designed to obliterate any highly resistant remaining microorganisms. The tools remain in these sealed, sterile pouches until they are opened directly in front of you at the beginning of your appointment.
